My September Favourites

Hey, my lovely readers. What’s up?

I’m back again with my list of favourites for the month. Honestly, this whole month has kept me on my toes with online classes, back to back college assignments, and so much more. A hectic and tiring month indeed. But I must say that the pros never stop surprising me. Like always, this month too had its share of sweet surprises and special moments that brought big grins to my face. Sharing three of my favourite moments of the month with my blogging community.

Love you Savage Love

Savage Love… Did Somebody, Did Somebody, Break Your Heart… Ooohh! I cannot stop humming these line all day. The darling of all songs. This one tops my current playlist. How did I learn about this song? Well, my cousin sister sent it to me. I listened to it and fell totally in love with everything about it – the tune, lyrics, and the voice of the artists Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo. It’s mesmerizing and takes you on a road to catharsis. The musical notes and beats are also so familiar. No wonder this recent 2020 release that has taken all music lovers by storm has become a global pop smash.

Savage Love you rock. Heading for a long trip? Play it on repeat!

Surprise Birthday Party

Another special moment of the month was my lovely mom’s birthday fun. So, my mom shares her birthday with her twin sister on 25 Sept. Being the lockdown time, celebrating at her favourite restaurant was out of question. But both the families were eager to make it special for the twin ladies. Shhh… a surprise birthday party was naturally in the offing. Everyone pitched in, a two-tier cake was ordered, the room was decorated, celebratory dinner was arranged, and the families got together to raise a toast to them. To top it all, we also compiled a loooong video with virtual birthday wishes pouring in from the entire family and their circle of friends and colleagues. I’m sure the twins got emotional with this sweet surprise, as one couldn’t miss the sparkle in their eyes.

For a Greener Cause

I’m always into supporting causes that are close to my heart. And saving mother earth / nature or going green is definitely one of them. I try my best to prevent tree cutting, if it’s happening in my vicinity. Also, I do not miss a single reason to plant new trees. This month, I planted a sweet holy basil to support some cause (not mentioning the cause for personal reasons). It gives me immense happiness if I’m able to do my bit for nature in my own trivial way. My plant is slowly growing with daily watering and nurturing, making me understand the importance of loving those who matter to us. Loving and nurturing gives an entirely different meaning to our lives. Right?

On that note, I extend my deepest gratitude to all of you my loving blogging family for constantly supporting me at every single step of my journey.

Thank you for reading Chasing The Maximum Life!

HOW MY BLOG STARTED

I started my blog a few months back during lockdown. I was bored with the same rut of eating, sleeping, watching TV and doing nothing. I felt this urge to indulge into something that would keep me busy and productive. One fine day, I got the idea of getting into blogging, thanks to my mom who’s a writer herself. I pondered over the thought and decided to give it a chance. Honestly, I didn’t know the ABC of blogging at that moment. But I was keen to experiment. With a lot of thinking and ideation, I came up with the name and lo, the blog was soon ready. I reluctantly posted my first story and slowly started getting some response. That motivated me to keep writing, and I did! Twice or even thrice a week. Over the time, things changed but my love of writing remained. Today, here I am, with 400+ followers!! I am very grateful for my lovely WordPress community that gave me a space to express my thoughts and views about the things I feel passionate about. Blogging has boosted my confidence and transformed me into this whole new person who is now strong, confident, and proud of herself. Thank you all!

You’re Amazing Just the Way You Are!

Hey my lovely readers. What’s up?

Do you love yourself? Do you accept yourself? Sounds like an odd question doesn’t it?

We usually set standards that are too high for ourselves because the society expects us to be perfect. We tend to forget that everyone has flaws including the people we perceive to be perfect.

Self-love and self-acceptance are critical aspects of health and happiness. These are the attributes that shape our physical, mental, and emotional health. When we refuse to accept ourselves, we cut ourselves from the energy that sustains life. When we don’t accept ourselves the way we are, we are in essence, wearing out internally. And when we fight against ourselves, guess who loses? So, friends let’s understand that it’s important to accept the fact that we all have flaws. Making mistakes is a part of life, and not a bad thing that you should be avoiding completely. Everyone makes mistakes. It’s one of the best ways to learn and grow.

On, that note, I bring you some inspiring quotes on self-acceptance, that will change your perspective and make you love yourself even more.

Thank you for reading Chasing the Maximum Life!

We are so occupied trying to achieve the bigger things in life, it isn’t tough for us to lose focus of the simpler things around.

5 Fashion Myths You Should Ignore

Hey my dear readers. How’s your weekend going?

The word “myth” may bring to your mind silly adolescent misconceptions such as – a watermelon growing in your stomach if you eat the seeds, perhaps or if you sneeze with your eyes open your eyeballs will pop out. But when it comes to the subject fashion, I think that women still subscribe to certain myths about how to dress that we simply think are false.

Though these may be bit less dramatic than growing a large fruit in your stomach, they’re still important to us because we dress ourselves every single day and so letting go of falsehoods about certain colours or accessories can make a difference.

Scroll to find out if you’re holding on to these fashion myths and see why I think it’s time to let them go once and for all.

#Myth 1: Mixing Prints is a No-No

We all have heard the ‘you can’t wear more than one print’ warnings, but no one ever explained it Why? Let me tell you people that sometimes in life, you must take risks. So, bust this myth now and looks for prints with complementary shades and rock that killer mixing. Just remember to take color into account.

#Myth 2: Keep Gold and Silver separate

We are in a time where fashion and style are so limitless that mixing silver and gold has now developed into an incredible trend. So, don’t be afraid to mix up gold and silver bangles or rings together because if the style matches, there’s no reason to not wear them together to build up a dual metallic look.

#Myth 3: Sequins are too Dressy for the day

Sparkle doesn’t have to be OTT, yet so many people reserve it exclusively for evening wear. I absolutely find no logic behind it. You can easily wear sequins during the day too. Just try to make the look more casual and always wear it with a tee. It can be your statement piece without being too much if you make sure to balance it out.

#Myth 4: You should wear a dress to look Feminine

Why limiting your style? A top and a pair of pants can still look as sophisticated. If you’re in the market for a more feminine wardrobe, look for form-fitting, colorful outfits with stylish, playful designs. You don’t need that girly makeover that includes accessories such as a pair of ballet or a headband.

#Myth 5: Newer means Better

Just because the shops are lined with shiny brand-new collections, doesn’t mean that these are better than the clothes already in your wardrobe. Trends will come and go, so don’t go crazy spending loads of money on one particular new style. Shop for fit, not for trend and nail the classics that you’ll be wearing for years.
