Orange Is The New Black

A Netflix original series based on the real life experiences of Piper Kerman, this comedy drama from Weeds creator Kohan is like nothing else on the streaming platform. The story takes place in a women’s prison as after transporting the drug money to Alex, Piper is imprisoned for the crime and has to spend 15 months in prison. it is a sharp mix of black humor and dramatic heft, with interesting characters and an intriguing flashback structure.

When They See Us

The four episode series tells the true story of Central Perk where five black teens were wrongly convicted of a rape that took place in New York in 1989. We follow these confused and terrified young men and their families, as they attempt to navigate police interviews and courtroom trials with the odds stacked against them. A flawless masterful dramatic series.

Dark

Dark is a German language series which tells the story of a child who goes missing from a small town under mysterious circumstances. This series is darker and weirder and doesn’t revel in any throwbacks. As children continue to vanish from the German town of Winden, we follow four estranged families as they find themselves unravelling a complex mystery involving time travel and conspiracies across generations. A mysterious drama that you will surely enjoy.
